Music Under The Stars
Every summer, the Lorain County Metro Parks make sure to start the season off right with their series of free outdoor concerts, featuring local and regional favorites and even artists known all over the country. These concerts are held every weekend in parks all over Lorain County, Ohio throughout the summer.
Lorain’s very own outdoor summer concert, Music Under The Stars, happens in Lakeview Park on Sundays, from 6 to 8 PM. Although the first one just recently concluded (on August 6), another one is set to take place on September 17, 2023, with the Dodworth Saxhorn Band.
BrewFest Waterfront District
BrewFest is Ohio’s premiere annual craft beer festival. It’s Lorain County’s first and largest beer festival and has been a mainstay of Lorain’s yearly events since the festival’s humble beginnings in 2014. BrewFest aims to bring together breweries and homebrewers to showcase their skill, craftsmanship, and dedication and invites beer lovers to enjoy a day full of food, games, music, fun activities, and of course, the finest craft beer and brews in the country.
BrewFest Waterfront District takes place on August 12, 2023, at Black River Landing, from 1 PM to 6 PM. This is the same location as our Oasis Adventures! Be sure to stop by for kayak and paddleboard rentals this weekend. Or enjoy a short cruise from the marina to this waterfront launch in Lorain.
Sunset Beach Fest
Lorain County Metro Parks’ Sunset Beach Fest is the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and spend a fun summer night on the beach! This free admission event offers kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and canoeing to visitors and guests, as long as the weather holds up. Enjoy a night under the stars with live music, good food, and a warm campfire as you watch the sun set over Lake Erie in all its splendor.
Sunset Beach Fest happens on August 19, 2023, at Lakeview Park from 5 to 8:30 PM. Lakeview Park is only 1.5 miles away from the marina!
Lorain County Fair
The Lorain County Fair has been a long-standing tradition in Lorain County since 1846. It is the second-largest county fair in Ohio and is usually held in Wellington, Ohio. A fair bit of distance from Lorain, but we promise you the travel is well worth it. The fair boasts a host of attractions, such as fair rides, food, music, vendors, contests, and derbies. If you’re in the mood to go to the fair, you can’t do any better than the Lorain County Fair!
This year’s fair starts on August 20, 2023, and lasts until the 27th, at the Lorain County Fair Grounds in Wellington, Ohio. Gates open at 8 AM and close at 11 PM every day.
FireFish Arts Festival
Lorain prides itself on its arts and culture community, and nowhere is it celebrated more than in the annual FireFish Arts Festival. This free community arts festival serves as the culmination of FireFish Art’s summer arts programs and workshops and features food, music, dance, performances, art installations, a lantern parade, and at the end of the night, the traditional burning of the FireFish.
The FireFish Arts Festival is free to attend and takes place on September 16, 2023, at Black River Landing.
Rockin’ on the River
If you’ve ever been to Lorain before, then you’ll know that Rockin’ on the River is kind of a big deal. Rockin’ on the River is one of the most attended and longest-running outdoor concerts in Ohio. Held almost every weekend, with a new band or artist performing every night, Rockin’ on the River has quickly become a local staple and is beloved by locals and visitors alike. It proudly showcases the talents of local, regional, and national artists and boasts one of the best sound and light shows on this side of Lake Erie.
